Improving the Journey of Students with Learning Disabilities

Improving the Journey of Students with Learning Disabilities

The purpose of this study is to better understand the journey of students with learning disabilities attending school. By identifying their positive and negative experiences, we aim to gain insight into how we can improve their journey and create something to help them succeed in their studies.

Help students get the necessary support to succeed in their studies.

Identify frustrations and barriers they face throughout their journey.

Understand their needs and preferences in order to provide effective assistance.

Proposed Solutions

The Classes

Having a class to educate people about learning disabilities can greatly contribute to raising awareness and providing support for students and co-workers. By increasing understanding and knowledge, miscommunications related to learning disabilities can be reduced.

App / Website

Developing an app or website specifically designed for students and individuals with learning disabilities can be a valuable resource. This platform can provide information and resources to assist them in their educational journey. It can include details on available support services, the process of transitioning from high school, and other relevant information.

The Package

Introducing the Learning Support Package! Designed specifically for students with learning disabilities, this comprehensive package equips them with the necessary tools and guidance to navigate their unique challenges and succeed in their post-secondary education journey. From tailored resources to personalized support, this package ensures that every student can thrive academically and confidently embrace their learning differences.

The findings from the interview, survey, and diary study support the identified challenges and pain points. It is evident that students with learning disabilities require more information and support as they approach the end of their high school education. Additionally, improving communication between teachers and students is crucial. Implementing the proposed solutions can contribute to addressing these issues and enhancing the overall experience of students with learning disabilities.
